Lightning Kennels is located in South West end of Canton, Ohio. In the little country side of the city. The kennel was started back in 1990 with Belgian Sheepdogs, who were just pets at the time. I started my showing career with them in 4-H then onto AKC. I started out in Junior Showmanship and in just a few years I have earned 9 UKC Best Junior Hanlder Awards and many first places in AKC Junior Showmanship. Now too old to show in Juniors, I currently help out other Juniors, while showing my dogs in AKC and UKC. In 2003 we started in Boxers. For now we just have one boy who we have high hope for.

         In 2005 the kennel was joined by Scott Vandegrift. Which has never handled a dog in his life, but has had them as pets. He has done very well showing Harley. And he is now working toward showing my Belgians. Look for him in the ring with both breeds. Dogs have may not have been his top thing, but bowling is. Where at age 16 he bowled his first 300 game.
